Well cbeites, I have been to coimbatore long long ago. well not so long ago , with my friends in pollachi and udumalpet during college days and DH working in coonoor have been to this beautiful place many times. With all the mills and ginning factories, an city that is rightly called the manchester of India. A great stopover place before moving to palghat, coonoor, ooty. Ok, let me be honest, what does CBE reminds me today, PSG college, the beautiful cotton sarees, Annapoorna, the temples, well the list goes on...but i have lost touch with this place in the last few years.. Infact the only contact with this beautiful place is through our illites firends here:thumbsup and how can i forget subbusir (subbutr)... . So what is making ripples in your city...dearies come on let us know more than the sarees, the grinders and properties....
kongu thamizhai konji konji pesum kovai maanagara makkal indha noolai (thread) paarkaadathu yaeno? 77 murai paarthavarhalil, kovaikkaararhal yeththinaio? shanthi - even i have been there probably 15 years before when my sis family was there in udumalai. Manchester of South India must have grown by leaps & bounds now. eager to read the responses as much as you are.
Hi, I am basically from Kovai and visit my lovely city frequently. Coimbatore is still wonderful-weather and water -still great... Realestate rates much more reasonable when compared to Chennai. Textiles are lying low-auto components and IT are the new gen industries of CBE. Lots of cultural activities(which was lesser before) are happening in venues like Ramar Temple and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Is virtually the educational Mecca of TamilNadu.
