    Dear Jayalakshmi Mohan,
The youngsters love to follow the latest trend, thats all to it. They do not do it intentionally or to hurt the elders !
    Love,
    Chithra.

Sorry to say that you are taking it other way
sometime back only in house where death is present people had untied hair
    but now things changed
i too leave my hair sometimes even to temple
the cause is that my forehead is pretty big
and just by loose hair i will look best else worst
obvious to be confident i do it

traditions have to be little flexible as things change
you can expect a present working woman to run around in saree
that will not be comfortable as salwar is

    so we change
but when an occasion demands we can surely say youth do still know their traditions and culture....

    Dear bunny,
Please go through these posts at leisure. Being abstract, they need concentration, to understand!!
    Love,

    Dear Chitra,

A million thanks to you and hats off for a tremendous effort in trying to bring our "culture" to all the readers here in a digestable form. Can't start to imagine how much research and hard work this must have involved.

You have given such a wonderful definition in such simple terms.

Indian traditions and rituals being highly varied, we often don't what the real significance of a ritual or a mantra is or if at all then the picture is incomplete and often blurred. Whatever the reason for that, it is really nice to get to know the complete picture in a nutshell.

Thanks once again for this phenomenal exercise. :-D

    Re: Hello Shal !

    dear maami,

"There are people who think that religion is a matter of faith and we are accepting what we do not see. We also think that science and religion are contradictory. Dr. Radhakrishnan, the great philosopher has said “ A little science takes you away from religion but more of it brings you nearer religion.”"

these lines impressed me a lot.
but really donot want to know the scientific reason behind our customs. i also want to take in a manner that our ancestors have created all the customs and practices for our good. They are many times smarter than the present generation.
