It was the month of February, year 2008.The days had never been so desolate. It had been 3 months since his return to India .After a brief stint at work in Delhi, he had decided to move to Hyderabad where he found a workplace and a role that matched his expectations.
The 8 years of his stay in the US was a pot pourri of mixed emotions....It was , according to him, the most eventful time of his life ...Little had he realised that, life would surprise him to an extent that, the events in the days to come , would completely change the world around him.
It was the routine training that every new employee was mandated to undergo as a part of the company's new joinee process. The training was predictable with scheduled sessions by trainers ranging from the HR to the company's management , to brief the employees about various aspects of the organization.
On the third day of the training, a lady left the session mid way claiming that she was feeling jaded with the never ending sessions and that the mandate was for namesake. She was very tall and walked out of the room with an I- don't -care -attitude, something that appealed to him...The next day, he introduced himself during the lunch hour and learnt that she also had joined the organization recently but was not too keen on the stolid training sessions. He asked her for a pen , if she had an extra one.She lent hers and they chatted about their past work lives. The lunch hour ended , the sessions restarted and he realized that she had left for the day without bothering to ask for her pen.
He searched for her contact details in the company's directory and called her office number. She was amused to learn that he had been so concerned about returning the pen, something which seemed so trifle ...They chatted over for a couple of minutes and ended the conversation with customary good nights.
He retrospected on the day's events and was feeling very blithe after a long hiatus.Somehow, he was looking forward to go back to work and attend the training session the next day.He conversed with his wife Seema and their three year old daughter, Riama. His wife was pleasantly surprised to see her hubby back in such a joyous mood after so many months. Thus ended an eventful day in his life....
