I asked God to send me a friend - He sent you.

I asked God to take away my pain - God said NO.
It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.

I asked God to grant me patience - God said NO.
Patience is a by-product of tribulations; it is not granted, it is earned.

I asked God to give me happiness. God said NO.
I give you blessings, happiness is up to you.

I asked God to spare me suffering - God said NO.
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow - God said NO.
You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked for all things that I might enjoy life - God said NO.
I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things.

I asked God to help me LOVE others as much as He loves me.
God said - Ahhh, finally, you have the idea.

    A Simple Prayer to God:

Lord, when my soul is weary and my heart is tired and sore, and I have that failing feeling that I cannot take anymore, then let me know the freshening found in the childlike prayer, when the kneeling soul knows surely that the Listening Lord is there !

    Love & regards,
    Chithra.

    original one

    Dear Mrs C,

That was powerful. Whether we say, 'amen or thathasthu or Mashallah' to this inspiring piece, it is so true.

Loved the part about giving up pain, about earning patience. Learnt much from the line that God gives us blessings, happiness is upto us. And about God pruning us- that was soft.

Thanks for sharing this with us and giving your Thursday specials a new touch.

    regards
    VR

You have the knack of touching my heart !

    Dear Vidya,
When your F B comes so fast, I feel my responsibility is also increasing.
I have hung up at the entrance to my puja room, the simple prayer given at the end.
But please excuse me if the tempo sags occasionally depending on the topic.
Please continue to be with methrough Holland & Africa, dear Vidya !
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.

    Answer to my Prayers

    Dear Chitra,

Another beautiful excerpt from you. These are profound words and I love them. I had come across these words sometime somewhere. But now, I plan to print them out and display it on my table or elsewhere so that I can read them everyday. It answers many of my quests without asking!
    Thanks again.

    L, Kamla

    Dear Ms. C,

That was a wonderful post. I remember to have read this some time back, it was sent to me as a slide show with some beautiful pictures. I was struck profoundly at that time and the same goes for today also. All the words expressed there are so true.
The prayer words are so beautiful. I am going to make it part of my daily prayers from here on.

    Vandhana

    Thankyou, Kamla !

I have printed it, laminated it & kept in my puja room, to read everyday.
By repeated daily reading, won't a fraction of it atleast enter our system ?
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.

    Prayers are powerful

    Dear Mrs CV,
This has been the best so far for me. Simple to understand and yet powerful. I love the patience quote where you have to earn it so true. I am planning to print it out just like you have done. Looking forward to next Thur. What's in store for us Mrs C?

    Love,

    Thankyou, Anjana !

I am glad you liked this week's posting.
Next week, we will learn how to pray. That was the method I learnt in my healing classes. I do follow it & my prayers are now very enjoyable to me.
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.

God sent u to/ for us!

Three cheers, Chitra....just what i needed! This lifted my spirit up and am i grateful that God sent you to us without we ever asking ! After all this shows that he knows what we want and how to give it to us when we need it!
Great thoughts and i loved the simple prayer at the end....i am experiencing all these so much that i agree copletely with all this.....and what a relief this prayer is ........

"Lord, when my soul is weary and my heart is tired and sore, and I have that failing feeling that I cannot take anymore, then let me know the freshening found in the childlike prayer, when the kneeling soul knows surely that the Listening Lord is there !"

So true to feel one with God and know that he is always there to listen and help us out! :clap
