A young girls diary - Anne Frank - its such a an amazing insight to a simple girl wanting acceptance and love and also the horrors of war.

I joined a communal reading project at the start of the year. This is a community whose goal is to read Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace one chapter a day. The book has ~350 chapters depending on the translation you read. As much as I love Russian literature I never could make it past the first fifth of this book. The innumerable references to European history and liberal use of French text was enough to deter my younger self. This time its been a very different experience. Reading a chapter, then going online and reading other views, browsing the references and blogs shared is like being in a book club. There are a few native Russian readers who expand and illuminate the nuances missed by the translations. It's a wonderfully immersive experience. For anyone interested - A Year of War and Peace • r/ayearofwarandpeace

Also been reading other books on the side. Current read - The Art of Raising a Puppy by the Monks of New Skete

Awesome! Don't be intimidated by how much you have to read to catch up. The book has short chapters, the longest being around 11 pages. I routinely fall behind but it takes one good hour-long reading session to get through 10 chapters. You'll be caught up in no time. I hope you enjoy it!
