wedding bangles !

hi all ! my post is for married women from north India specially Punjab. others can also give valuable feedback !
i want to know for how long did u wear your chooda or traditional red and white wedding bangles ?
when did u remove them ? after 40 days or 1 year ? and who removed them ? u did it yourself or had a small ceremony at home ?
my mom says she removed it herself as dad was in army so no was around to do that
but few of my friends had small ceremony where sis in law took it out after 40 days and few others wore it for more than a year ?
i know for putting on the bangles it is done by mama of the bride but i m curious to know who removes it ?
