Hello Lalitha and all I have been to South Indies , I some how didnt feel the food tastes that great. It is good for outsiders to taste SI (SI-SouthIndian) food, but not to native SI's i guess. Pinxx is a good choice. Royal Orchid hotels in Manipal centre is also good. But they have both veg and Non veg. Konark residency road, there was some fire accident last week. I think they should be close. I have a 1.5 yr old kid. So I would be leaving him at home with my DH and will be a free bird for sometime enjoying with you ladies. regards Shobha
Hemchi, I love Pinxx too. Their weekend Brunch spread is tops ! Sobhi : Yeah, South Indies food is like ordinary home cooking. Not too good, not too bad ! Have you been to Krishna Cafe( 60ft.road Koramangala) ? Not only is the food traditional and homely, even the place is like an old middle class house ! But all these IT-youngsters seem to love it, especially their gojju ( Vatta Kolambu) because its "like Amma's cooking" ! Lalitha, Most of the restaurants i listed are multi -cuisine, not pure veg. kitchen. BTW, how did we forget the good old Woodlands Hotel , Richmond circle !:bonk Pai Viceroy, in Jayanagar, is fully veg. Mint Masala in Bhashyam Circle is also veg. All : Anyone likes "Three Quarter Chinese" on Church Street ? I do.
Hi TL, We could defintely try Woodlands, though I am not sure of the quality nowadays...Pai Viceroy is a gud choice...i was not aware it is only veg... I am ok with both the place....lets finalise pls...May viceroy would be a best bet because of the ambience...and all people residing in south..it is easy for them to commute BTW: Where do you stay TL...
Likewise Padma & Lalitha - thank you. I would love to meet mindi as well. We will be doing DS's upanayanam, so quite excited and tensed as well. Have a great time ladies and look forward to some pictures
Lalitha "The Royal Corner" at Pai Viceroy( Jayanagar )is pure veg. Other Pais are mixed. (Don't know about Woodlands Lunch these days. But just a fortnight ago, had breakfast there. Was good.) You can have the final say Lalitha. You'd know the tastes and preferences of the regulars better.
Dear Lalitha... as I mentioned earlier of late there seems to be a good feed back on Woodlands.. parking is also plenty... K
Hi Gorgies, I checked on woodlands and Pai Viceroy, both are veg joints hence no problem. Woodlands - serves only south Indian plantain leaf menu but Pai Viceroy serves multicuisine which we can check & order. As we are all southies again to have the same food on pl. leaf is boring is my contention, hence would shortlist Pai Viceroy...The ambience is also good. Kindly confirm your attendance before hand as I need to book the table in advance as it is a weekend cum holiday...
The attendees for the meet looks like this: LS Varalotti Shobi Kavithavel Tubelight Kelly Hemchi - to confirm Sindhu Rao - To confirm Amihere - To confirm Laks09 Nanraj aka Nanditha - To confirm Meenakshi rajan - to Confirm Sigmabeta aka Syama - Confirmed on Phone Vidhu63 - To confirm Hope I have not missed anyone.
Hi Lalitha.. and all wonderful ladies and ofcourse Varlotti and all other gentlemen... looking forward to seeing you.. As the venue is in Jaynagar I'll need help in directions as I'm very unfamiliar with that area:hide: Lalitha do count me in and also..just for info I'm not a south Indian.. am a Parsi married to a Bengali.. but I know I'll blend... looking forward...for the 1st of May K
