    Dear Friends...

    Made Corn grits upma and had with Orange peel Rasam vandi. It is very very tasty .... Very happy to share with you all !! :)


    Orange Peel Rasam :

    I did not use tamarind this time.
    Just mix Dhaniya podi, chilli powder, turmeric powder to water, mix it well add tomato puree(2-3 tbsp), salt to it, add uncooked thuvar dhal,sliced & chopped orange peel to the mixture. Allow the mixture to boil for 7-8 months.... (make sure the dhal is cooked) and fry a spoon of oil, add mustard,curry leaves and hing to it ... allow the mustard to splutter. Garnish with Coriander leaves !!

    Yesterday for lunch made Mughalai Biriyani (Courtesy: Chitvish) alongwith cucumber and Tomato raitha. Below is the Biriyani could not take the snap of the raitha...hence please adjust with this.

    Hello ladies,

    Could not post pictures yesterday, since we went out on a lovely trip to Washington D.C. Took milagaipodi smeared Idlis and curd rice with pickles for the trip. Ofcourse accompanied by lots of yummy snacks and drinks too. The weather was very pleasant and warm (for winter) and we thoroughly enjoyed our day!!

    For today, made

    Chowchow Kootu
    Tomato Rasam
    Brinjal Roast curry
    Mochai curry
    Red bellpepper pulao with cucumber pachadi

    Mexican salad & veggie omelette(did'nt click pic of it)... (breakfast)

    for vegetable briyani i used to add soya balls if i have... coz it really taste good...mom even fry bread cubes in ghee and use for seasoning along with cashew & onion....

    yesterday i made mixed veg soup and pasta for dinner.Usually i prepare pasta with marinara sauce but this time i made a simple dressing with olive oil,garlic,crushed red pepper and coriander.The taste was awesome...sharing with you all...

    Made Dhaniya podi sadam and had with Garlic Milagu kuzhambu !

    Dhaniya Podi :

    Dhaniya podi ( Dry roasted Dhaniya, coarsely grounded with little salt ). If you want it to be spicy and elaborate .... add red chilli, urad dhal, channa dhal (dry roast it and powder it with tamarind and hing) !! Healthy, aromatic podi is ready . We can use it for rasam too to get good flavor !!
