    Hello Ladies,

We know you all are enjoying Varalotti Rengasamy's (a.k.a. Sridhar) short stories in our IndusLadies site. The feedback received for all his stories comes as a proof of the liking for his stories.

Having captivated us with his short stories, now Varalotti comes up with a "Serial Story" that will be published as weekly episodes for "IndusLadies Members". Earlier posted stories were his already published ones, while this Serial Story is being written for the first time for IndusLadies.

Here is what Varalotti has got to say about the Serial Story...

"I have titled the story "The Haunted House" . I am planning about 12 to 13 weekly episodes. The story revolves around two sisters born in a rich industrial family. The elder sister after a tragic love failure has decided not to marry at all. And when a boy comes to see the younger sister some strange, frightening things start happening at their house. The boy, who is the hero, is himself a writer of ghost-stories and ghost-serials for Television. People suspect that he had jinxed the house.

Then begins the patient investigation of the strange phenomenon. After so many twists and turns the story reaches an unexpected ending. This story is not a normal ghost-story but a psychological thriller with every unnatural phenomenon that's happening in the house.

It's a story about the ghosts, the evil spirits and the good ones. It's about parapsychology, about the paranormal and the abnormal. But there is nothing irrational or superstitious or that which has not been scientifically proved.
It's about the powers and the vicious propensities of the human mind. It's about its amazing healing powers. It's also about two very tender minds which had fallen hopelessly in love. It's not a love story, but a story of love, through and through. It's also the story of the bizarre, of the dark forces and the good ones.
Sethu, Sharada and Sandhya (IL members who are namesakes, please excuse me; I have lived with these characters for months on end and cannot not recognize them by any other name) would be walking in our site, would be knocking the doors to your hearts and if allowed to enter, would live with you for a while. They will make you think, smile, laugh, cry, shout and even make you crazy. Don't complain that I have not warned.
But as it is in this world, as it is in heaven, it is always the good which wins a decisive victory over evil. For against the most powerful weapon wielded by the good forces –LOVE – the other side does not have a counter weapon, at least not yet. Even then to watch that battle is a fascinating experience.
Hitherto I've been posting only already published stories in IL. For the first time I am serving something right from the oven. (Chitvish and Mano, pardon me for borrowing your expressions) This story of mine would be seeing the outside world only through your eyes and hearts. And now, harden your hearts and read on…….

Enjoy the Serial Story and as usual provide your feedbacks!

    oh my God!

    Hi Sridhar

I read the story....you have started it beautifully and the chill and thrill have already set in....

I am scared of horror/ghost stories..I tried to avoid them as much as possible...I hope you don't scare me too much...My husband is travelling for 3 days and as such I am scared of being alone at home..and now you have started this...

Actually I am happy that you stopped the first episode without going into more bizzare stuff....Atleast when the next episode comes,I will not be alone at home.[IMG]

    Cheers

    Don't Worry Sunitha!

    Hello,
Ghosts and spirits have a place in this story. But this is not a ghost story. This is a story of love. Don't worry I wont scare you. As I am writing the second episode I am taking into account, the fact this is an all-ladies site and most of the ladies might be home alone while reading this.
One assurance I can give you. The story will be thrilling but wont be scary. I don't believe in the 'exorcist' brand of ghosts where everything is creepy and you feel like puking.
However as I said earlier you need to harden your heart a little more before reading on.

    Walk into our lives

Great idea! Psychological thrillers are really intriguing. Have yet to read the first episode. Will read it shortly and then revert with my comments. Am glad that one of the central characters has my name - only hope that she's not a psychotic! Am sure the characters and the serial will enter our lives and thoughts effortlessly. Reminds me of my days in boarding school - our housemother used to tell us stories from Ananda Viketan. We were hooked on one serial and would eagerly wait for Friday nights. Now we'll be waiting for the next episode of Varalotti's serial - hot from the oven!
