Upset I Made Rude Comment At Dad

Older IL with grown kids plz advise. Give your views

Dad is helpful and encouraging. Says my life is just beginning.

I do my best to help him with stuff.

Last night I was excited I for few minutes of exercise in and I shared the good news with him. This was close to bedtime.

An hour later just when I was going to fall asleep my Dad knocked on door.

Internet TV was not working properly.

I know this means lots to him so I tried to troubleshoot.

My body and mind was sleepy but I wanted to help Dad.

I assured him that error would fix itself but anyway I would see what I can do.


I didn't change any configuration and few minutes later it started working.

Then Dad said he thought I was exercising hence he knocked my door.

I felt really cranky and sleepy and exhausted and said, "see I open my big mouth and I get punished"

Then my Dad replied he feels bad that I lost proper sleep (because silly problem was able to fix itself)

I used the washroom, returned and said, "See I wanted to share this good news I for in exercise"

I don't remember what he said, something along lines of, "either way its ok"

Then I said I'm glad everything is working and unless something really good and fabulous happens, don't wake me up.


Then I said good night.


I feel guilty about making comment about opening big mouth

Outsiders will use your words to harm you, not genuine parents.
