She was just an year and didn't sleep that easily. She was already in a cradle that was going to and fro, as her father was rocking it gently. She saw the black sky above and a bright [but not so bright to close her eyes], moon at a distance. There were stars that seemed to be evenly placed and there were so many of them in various colours. "Red must be her favourite!", he father thought and rocked it again. Her mom was in the other room and even had she been there, her father would not have allowed her to do this task. Also, her mom was so tired, after a day's work. He seemed to be fully aware of it as he also sang a sad melody while rocking it. The baby seemed to be asleep for a minute, but started to twist if left for even a short while, testing anybody's patience, but not his. Finally, she was asleep. After confirming it, he then stood up, plucked the stars one by one and the moon too. After that he removed the black cloth that was the 'sky'. After placing them in respective places, he went in and had his dinner, which was nothing but a porridge with a piece of pickle. His wife asked him the question again. "Why are you doing all this and that too, daily?". He smiled, knowing that she knew. He was a small time stage artist who was so busy earlier.
