No . Total nishkamya karma is not possible . Any karma or Doing needs a Reason , a Motive which is Kamya . Even Gods act only with Motives .
There can only be a difference in what kind of motive and what degree attachment to the result .

@satchitananda maid woes leading to so much gyan re. The action of giving money to the maid bore the fruit of gyan to satchi. Karma phal milgaya..where was it unconditinal..just kidding.

So true on unconditional..that it take a endless effort to reach the state of nishkama karma state. The zen story of I Want happiness erasinf the i or me (self and ego) and then erasing the want that is desire or vancha to just hapiness a state is a hard journey..

Reminds me of the chapter in swami vivekanandas works.. since i dont have the book tried google devta..

sympathy on a human or animal when we hear that they are hurt in any form, can that be considered unconditional kindness etc. I think it can be...but not sure...

    hi
I haven't read the trail of posts in response to your post. So maybe I'm just repeating someone else here. Anyway, i do feel any act of kindness is always welcome irrespective of the motive. Yes it's any day nobler to give unconditionally than to give with ulterior motives. Yet, to give is better than not giving at all.
But unconditional charity or a good deed on one's part shouldn't make the receiver take the giver for granted- which could be the case between you and the maid.:coldsweat: So a little thinking is required before doing even an act of dharma.

    Dear Viswa,

Extremely sorry for the delay in replying.

Sorry for the long reply, Viswa, but I am just thinking out 'aloud'. Being a slow learner, it takes a long time to figure out various ideas and thoughts. Thanks a lot for contributing to my thought process.
