I have an approval notice for H1B visa. I am going to India next month to get my visa stamped. I am flying through Germany - connecting at Frankfurt airport. Do I need a transit Visa? Had anyone gone through this before?
Yes. You need a transit visa even if you stay in Frankfurt airport only for a few hours. The Germany embassy website says that transit visa requirements cannot be waived, if you just have an approval notice. You don't need a transit visa if you have a stamped H1B visa status or a Green Card. For obtaining a Tranist Visa to Germany, try the information here.
Here are some useful links if you are transiting through UK or France. If you transit through the UK, see details here If you transit through France, see details here
Myself and my husband are flying through KLM for the same visa stamping purpose. Can anyone post a link to the Dutch embassy where we can read about transit visa requirements?
Yes you need one. Recently my friends travelled through Germany and they had to get one. Infact, even if you have a green card, you need one.
