Tonsuring baby's head in margazhi month

    Hi

    I want to know whether we can tonsure baby's head and pierce his/her ears in the tamil month marghazhi. that will be the 7th month for the baby. we have to return from india as my visa expires. so we cant postpone it any further like 9th month.
    Please advise...

    Hi Gajalakshmi,

    As far I know, we can do ear piercing or tonsuring in the month of margazhi. Usually it is done on the 7th, 9th or 11th month of the baby. People don't do marriages or house warming in Margazhi. But functions like valaikappu and ear piercing were done.

    i dont think you can do it. What if the baby fails exams later in life? Or does not get married? I would recommend against it.
