A perfect partner for dosas and idli....
Are you bored of trying the same chutney, do try this simple chutney which has a subtle taste of ginger...

    Ingredients
    3 Medium sized tomato
    2 medium sized onion
    4 dry red chilly
    1/2 inch fresh ginger
    Few curry leaves
    1/2 tsp oil
    Mustard seeds
    Salt to taste

    Method
Wash and chop the tomato and onion in medium chunks...
Heat a pan(without oil) and add onion, tomato, dry red chilly and roast until tomato turns mushy.
Switch off the flame add ginger, curry leaf and salt.
Cool and grind adding little water.
    Season with mustard seeds.

Nice, shall try. This reminds me of the north Karnataka chutney that they make with bhakri, in that they use semi ripe tomatoes.

Do you have to cook the tomatoes for a long time ? Not sure if I don’t cook them well enough but the ones I tried have a raw tomato taste.
