Tofu by itself has no taste. But it blends with all spices. I usually use it with wheatflour and make chappathis. You can use tofu in place of coconut in beans, carrots. It really goes well with spinach too. I normally buy firm tofu sothat I can cut and use it.
I also use it in pulav. Lightly fry it with oil and add it at the end of the pulav.
    Hope it helps.

Tofu is a versatile dish. 1)You can steam it if it is in v.soft form, very similar to steaming fish chinese style, however must be eaten immediately to get the full taste 2) It can be diced and added in curry, leave it your imagination (this must be medium soft)3) Can be scrambled or added to vegetables 4) mashed can be added to cutlets 5) another variety called tofu poh - (it is fried while purchasing itself) can be added to soup, noodles etc 6) tofu sambhal: a very popular dish in malaysia cooked in ground chilies 7) can be cooked with soya sauce and oyster sauce.

Let you imagination take you as to cooking tofu

    Marinated Tofu

This is our all time favorite and an easy party appetizer. Always been a hit in all the parties that I took it to.

    Ingredients:
Extra Firm tofu - Dabbed with kitchen towel to remove excess water and kept under weight in refridgerator for 2 hours so that it become close to dry. Dice it into big chuncks say 1 inch X half inch cubes

    Bread Crumbs

    For Marinade
Soy Sauce - 3-4 table spoons
Chilli paste(I always use Sri Racha chillie paste) - depending upon how spicey you want. We Love it spicey
Sesame oil - 2 table spoons
Grated ginger - 1 table spoon
Grated garlic - 1 table spoon
    White vinegar - 1 teaspoon

Dip every tofu cube in the mixed marinade and line it in a baking pan. Once all the diced tofu is dipped and placed in the pan, sprinkle break crumbs over the dipped tofu pieces and pour any remaining marinade over them. Wrap it with plastic wrap and place it in refridgerator for 3-4 hours so that the tofu absorbs all the flavors. Bake in oven at 375 for 20 minutes or until well done.
