Toastmasters. Nearing Cc And Elected Club Officer.

A few years back I was going through a severe rough patch and someone suggested I join Toastmasters.

I am unable to find the original thread or the person who suggested it, but I just wanted to say

I am two speeches away from earning Competent Communicator (need 10 speeches total), and I have been elected as one of our Club Officers. I even motivated others in my office to join Toastmasters.

Delivering speeches on topics I want has improved my confidence. I figure it's best to talk about what you are passionate about, and not feel intimidated. Many times I talk about Indian culture to a mostly American audience (i.e. their family has been in USA for hundreds of years, rather than decades ago). They are quite receptive and fascinated by our rich traditions.

And I also learned that if people don't like you, it is OK.

No need for sadness or anger.

At the end of the day we are all good at heart. But somewhere in this life we have strayed.

Whether we realize it or now we are constantly trying to find our way back home, to the love that exists within us.
