    Being a caged bird
    My whole life is planned
    I've a song in my heart
    But I can't sing unless they command

    First they clipped my wings
    And then opened to me the whole sky
    They said,"The world is your oyster.
    Then why are you afraid to fly?"

    All my life I had to do
    What I had been told
    I never had a say in my life
    But now they complain why I aren't bold

    They kept telling me
    How I was lagging behind
    Finally I gave up on my dreams
    And they asked why I am so resigned

    All I can say is
    That not everyone is meant to fly
    Some like to walk
    And defy the sky.
