Great tips ladies.. In addition to the above points, some from me.

    1. Try to keep the table top spacious all the time. Whenever you use a vessel/spice box, have a habit to put it back in the shelf and not over crowd the table top.

    2. Use clean kitchen towels always. Use separate towel for wiping the table tops/stove and for carrying the hot vessels. Wash these towels regularly - at least twice a week. Don't overuse them too much. In winter, try to use paper towels as they are more hygiene when compared to the cloth. Don't leave the towels damp for long time.

    3. As much as possible avoid having the grocery items in the plastic bags[once opened] they come with. Use containers.

    4. Don't have any non-kitchen items in the kitchen. Kitchens have the maximum number of shelves/cupboards. So its natural tendency to keep the things there. It crowds the cup boards and messes up the order.

    5. If the wall near the stove is not tiled, have a glossy wall paper fixed. It helps in cleaning and your walls are protected from the spattered oil.

    6. Have a practice to frequently bleach the area around the sink.

Hi, one more tip. always keep a napkin by your side and if something spills while cooking, wipe it with a wet cloth then and there after simmering the stove for a few seconds. This will save a lot of time.

    Thanks Srisha07,vdeepab4u,Ilovetulips,maalti for your tips..

One more tip: Keep stoves on some blotting papers. When oil is spilled over near the stove while cooking, it is easy to clean..we can simply replace the blotting paper

Deepa @ Blotting paper absorbs oil very quickly .They are available in different sizes in shops. The ones which are available in the form of big sheets can be used for kitchen purposes.

Here's one more tip (especially for beginners):
Keep grocery in proper storage containers, and avoid using things from the plastic bags they came in. This really saves a lot of time, and the food will be stored properly.
When I was new to kitchen, I used to use the spices, atta, rice, onions, etc, directly from the plastic bags they came in. I later realized that I was spending so much time to carefully close the bag with a paperclip or rubberband.
