    Hi everyone,

few months ago I signed up for the marathon to keep fit. I've slacked on my training, but this past month have been quite on target. The marathon's in another month. My question to all of you is, what are your thoughts about the marathon for a new runner like myself.

I'm 29 and in okay shape, not super athletic, but slim, and previously did cardio daily on the elliptical.

Recently I think I have a minor sprain in my so taking it slow. Do you guys think the marathon overall is a healthy activity or no?

Also, I've been trying to cross-train with yoga (just at the local gym...I don't know much yoga myself). Any particular stretches, diet tips, or other tips you guys might have?

    Swan,
In which marathon are you participating????

It’s a good option to start working out and running outside.
You may need to practice every day outside.
Starting with lesser miles would be good, try it out first and slowly you can increase your mileage.
