திருப்பாவை, பாசுரம்- 26.





மாலே. மணிவண்ணா. மார்கழி நீராடுவான்
மேலையார் செய்வனகள் வேண்டுவன கேட்டியேல்
ஞாலத்தை எல்லாம் நடுங்க முரல்வன
பால் அன்ன வண்ணத்து உன் பாஞ்ச சன்னியமே
போல்வன சங்கங்கள் போய்ப் பாடுடையனவே
சாலப் பெரும் பறையே பல்லாண்டு இசைப்பாரே
கோல விளக்கே கொடியே விதானமே
ஆலின் இலையாய் அருளேலோர் எம்பாவாய்.

ராகம், தாளம்- குந்தலவராளி, ஆதி.

பொருள்:

மால் - இரத்தினம், ஆசைப்படத்தக்கவன், அன்பு, மலை, மேகம், அரசன்,
மயக்குபவன், ஏமாற்றுபவன், ஜாலக்காரன், ஆசை, அரண்மனை, காமம், கருப்புநிறம்,
புதன்கிரகம், காற்று, பெரியவன், இந்திரன்;
மணிவண்ணா - நீலரத்னம்போன்றவண்ணமுள்ளவன், நீலவண்ணன்;
நீராடுவான் - நீராடுவதற்காக, குளிப்பதற்காக; மேலையார் - முன்னோர்கள், பெரியோர்கள், ஆன்றோர்கள்; செய்வனகள் - செய்துவந்த, செய்யும்கிரிசைகள்;
முரல்வன - சப்திக்கும், ஒலிக்கக்கூடிய; சங்கங்கள் - சங்குகளும்;
போய்ப்பாடு - புகழ், பெரியதாய்இருக்கை, சிறப்புவாய்ந்த; சால - மிகவும்;
கோல - அழகிய, மங்கள; விதானம் - மேலேகட்டவேண்டியசீலைகள்;
ஆலின்இலையாய் - ஆலமரஇலையில்பிரளயகாலவெள்ளத்தில்உறங்கியவன்;

பக்தர்களிடம் மிகுந்த அன்பு கொண்டவனே! நீலக்கல் நிறத்தவனே! பெரிய கடலில் ஆலிலையில் மிதப்பவனே! பெரியவர்களால் வழிவழியாக மேற் கொள்ளப்படும் மார்கழி நோன்பிற்கு, உலகத்தையே அதிர வைக்கும் ஒலியையும், பால் சாதம் போன்ற நிறத்தையும், உன் சங்காகிய பாஞ்சஜன்யத்தைப் போன்றதுமான வலம்புரி சங்குகளையும், பெரிய முரசுகளையும், பல்லாண்டு பாடும் பெரியோரையும், மங்கள தீபங்களையும், கொடிகளையும் தந்து, இந்த நோன்பை நிறைவேற்றுவதற்குரிய இடத்தையும் அளித்து அருள் செய்ய வேண்டும்.

Oh Lord Vishnu, Oh lord who is like the blue sapphire, If you ask us what we need, In your great grace and great deeds, For our holy bath of Marghazhi, we will ask for very many conches Like the milk white conch of yours called Pancha Janya, Very many big drums whose sound can be heard everywhere, several musicians of fame to sing “Pallandu” Several beautiful pretty lamps, Several flags and cloths to make tents, Oh, He who sleeps on a banyan leaf at time of deluge, Please give us them all, So that we worship our Goddess Pavai.
