Anitha, i was not able to use the clothes got from india, my baby was winter baby, so we had to use full sleepers, sleep sacks and onesies, moreover onesies are easy to use to change diapers.U can get good deals here if u shop during sales.

I liked the thin cotton towels from india, plastic sheets for diaper changing, vasambu for the baby,( we tied it as a bracelet), if it is girl baby we can get pretty pattu pavadia, and jewellery sets.

If you plan for baby shower then you can get some return gifts from India.
Like small silver item, or tranperant bowl fruits holder, bangles (for babyshower party), small pasupu and kumkum packets (to give in return gift bag)

    For Baby --
Rubber sheet, black beads, silver spoon, bowl, glass, baby dresses, baby blanket

    For you --
Cotton nighties with front button or zip easy for breastfeeding, long skirts for you, any special foods that you want to eat.

    Dear Archana & Other IL's,

Please send me the check list of items(some will be having a list already I guess) for Parents to bring to USA during delivery time.

It will be good if we have it in handy. :)

Anitha, you can ask ur mom to bring moong dhal powder to use for bath for the baby instead of soap.
they also sell suchbath powders but i prefer to make it at home as it is for the baby.i used this powder until my LO was a yr, then he wanted only soap :-(

I had my little girl last July. My mom had gotten cloth stitched in triangular shape with thread on two sides and loop on one side(you get this readymade in India)) which I used to put for the little one as a 'langotti' whenever we had to free her from the diaper. That was really helpful.
