Do I have to say anything about them? Mohd Rafi in Dulari. Music by Naushad Rafi singing for Dilip Kumar in Madhumati Watch Dilip's face TU NAHIN AUR SAHI. Mukesh and Ravi Movie Yahudi. Music by Shanker Jaikishan Movie Aakhri Dao Music by Madan Mohan
What a wonderful collection! Truly soul stirring songs - such magic can never be recreated now. Thanks
Yet again you've sent me on a nostalgia trip Cheeniya sir. : ) A few of my favorites, Lata in Man Mauji. Such sweet reproach! Kishore Kumar in Mr X in Bombay. I fell in love with this song at the age of 13. The romance has endured. Naam niklega tera hi lab se, jaan jab is dile-e-nakaam se rukhsat hogi. (Yours is the name that will linger on these lips, when life bids adieu to this ill-fated heart.) Rafi in Parasmani. Just the name Gulzar is sufficient introduction for this song. Powerful expression of loss and regret. Tere bina zindagi se koi shikwa to nahin, tere bina zindagi bhi lekin zindagi toh nahin. (I have no complaints from a life without you; a life without you is no life at all)
My dear @iyerviji Thanks a lot for your appreciation. Music gets a lot sweeter when it is shared with like-minded people Sri
Dear @joylokhi My grandchildren would not agree with that statement now. As generations change, the taste for music changes too. They have songs for jogging, bathing, eating, partying, reading and even for falling asleep. When I listen to the type of music that they enjoy, a shudder passes through my frame. It's all synthetic sound now. Just listen to this lilting song from the movie Anuradha with music directed by Pandit Ravi Shankar: How can anyone blame me if I turn my back on modern music?
@Gauri03 A lovely selection indeed! That takes me back to my own collection: From the movie Sazaa (1951) sung by Lata. Music by SD Burman Movie: Parvarish (1958) Music directed by Dattaram From Chhoti Bahen Sung by Mukesh under the music direction by Shanker Jaikishan Song by Mukesh in the movie Kanhaiya (1959)
