    I used to dream
Of what, I do not know
    Only, they were the reality
Of that moment of my existence

"Hey, Gowri the dreamer, wake up" they’d say
And shake me rudely out of that world
    Where nothing ever mattered
Or could not touch my reality even if it did

    I used to dream
    Of possibilities
Had it not been for realities
    Of times, circumstances, limitations

    Times changed, realities changed
    It was too late now
    To live those dreams
    For circumstances changed

All one is left with now
    Are the dreams
The fabric of reality woven through them
Knowing they can only be dreams.

Sat-chit-Ananda, this post reveals three things :
    A) you are a good poet
    B) sat-chit-ananda-ing involves dreaming too
    C) Your name is Gowri

    Thanks for the revelations !

The third revelation is not true. There used to be a story of 'Gowri the dreamer' in my 2nd std text book. That's where the Gowri came from.

Thanks a lot for the rest. :)

Was watching a film where the main character takes off on his moped from Paris to Marseille and this brought back old dreams of going on my

When I started the poem I thought, this looks like a poem for me. Once I read the second stanza I knew it. Now I must find that story and read it! All Gauri's are dreamers. Hopeless ones! : ) Except I don't think it is ever too late for a dream. They just need to be dreamt anew every so often. If Satchi can't ride to Leh on her Activa, she can go to Leh and rent a scooty to explore.

    @satchitananda
May be day dreams are like bubbles (remembering your bubble poem). I liked your poem because so much reality in it. I used to day dream on 2 things but unfortunately those day dreams hadn't happened but I accepted the reality.

Dreams can be wild ones or ones rooted in reality. Lucky people could probably realize their wild dreams. Others dream and work for them to be realized. Yet others have to accept 'reality' as we know it. But then isn't it said that even life is no more than a dream? Whatever will be will be. What is important is to dream while getting on with daily life, not getting carried away with those dreams nor giving up totally. Rather complicated, isn't it. :)
