That's why I PM'd you. Anyway here goes mine... 1. On 16th day it would be at 20 meters which is the top. As on the prev. day it would climb total of 15 mts & next morning 15+5 = 20 = top. The "Great Indian" Puzzle Thread! - feb '07 hiiiii all here is 3*** puzz back...... 1 * Abracadabra with Apples In Miss Miranda's class are eleven children. Miss Miranda has a bowl with eleven apples. Miss Miranda wants to divide the eleven apples among the children of her class, in such a way that each child in the end has an apple, but one apple still remains in the bowl. The Question: Can you help Miss Mirand 2* Tour de France The Question: In the Tour de France, what is the position of a rider, after he passes the second placed rider? 3* Twins Trouble Julius and Vincent are brothers. "We are born within the same hour," says Julius, "on the same day of the same year." "But," says Vincent, "we are no twins!" The Question: How is this possible?
Re: The "Great Indian" Puzzle Thread! - feb '07 1) Miranda gave 10 students 1 apple each & the 11th student got 1 apple with the bowl. 2) Tour de France : he becomes the 2nd person in the race. 3) a. they could be born on different dates in the same year, like jan 2006 on a monday & nov 2006 on another monday. (you said only the days n' year are same) or b. they could be born to different moms but same dad.
Re: The "Great Indian" Puzzle Thread! - feb '07 Dear Nalini, 3- They must be born as triplets, quadruplets. Love,
Re: The "Great Indian" Puzzle Thread! - feb '07 HI Nalini Here are my solutions: 1: Miranda will give one apple for one student each. After 10 mewmbers are over, she'll give the remaining apple and bowl to the 11th student. So it tells that the bowl has still one apple, and every child has an apple. 2: If he passes the 2nd placed rider, then he'll become the 2nd placed rider. So he'll be in 2nd place. 3: Julius and Vincent, they are born within the same hour, on the same day, same year. They are brothers. So they could have born to two sisters, means they'll become cousins(brothers). Or they are born to two mothers who have the same husband. One more case is that, they are no twins means they can be triplets or quadraples at the time of their birth.
