    Poopandi is pronounced exactly like it is spelt. But in an English Medium matriculation school the name sounds quite odd. It is ethnic and rural, and amongst the students, a cause for laughter.

    thanks a lot for the kind words. I wrote the story in English more than 12 years ago. This was published as a serial in children's magazine. But they had messed up with the editing. Hence I posted my version of the story here.

    I must say, Poopandi had the most forgiving heart. Really amazing story. I couldn't help want to shake the girl up till her teeth chattered. But then I am no angel.

    Children can be so incredibly cruel and this is seen time and again in schools. Don't judge by looks. This moral has once again come through so strongly in this story.

    Thanks Satchi. I loved writing this story. Violence is not an answer to violence. But only love is. Even if Poopandi had wielded his full powers Lekha would not have been reformed.
