Talented Yet Underappreciated Bollywood Singers

Aah Vijay Benedict and Disco Dancer.. bought the audio cassette without caring what was the other movie on the cassette.

KK .. Khudaa Jaane from Bachna Aee Haseenon.. 2008! How time flies!

 

Looks like Aarti Mukherjee sang more in Bengali. Wonder if it was by choice or not getting enough songs in Bollywood. Another one by her is Shaam teri bansi pukaare. Sachin and Sarika. I always thought Sarika looked like his mom : ) I know not a kind thought given how innocent most of their movies were. : )

 

Meena Kapoor.

I recollect her songs once in a few years, usually around holiday time. Best listened to when it is quiet all around. Kuch aur zamana kehta hai from Choti Choti Baatein.

The lament expressed ever so gently. Video also watchable as she sings it in a boat and the manjhi (boatman) encouraging her.

yaa baat suno apne dil ki




Another one by her - More atariya pe kaga bole (Ankhen, 1950) is more well-known and upbeat.
