    Hi Santha,
Thanks for your reply.I guess we all are in the same boat, all the "famous" fertility centers here have same problem the doc who earn reputation for the centers doesn't anymore looks at the patient and all the junior docs will be treating us.

After spending so much money and going thru so much emotional stress atleast we deserved to be treated by a good doctor :(

Even in gunasheela its the same case, junior (they call themself trained) doctors will be taking up your treatment. And according to them all the reports and prescriptions etc are approved by the gunasheelas, but looking at the crowd there i don't think they even look at our course of treatment. That is why i am a bit reluctent to go there.
Can you share your experience with the doc you met at kamini rao, does she seem knowledgeble to you ? how many ivfs she has done before and the success rates?
And also can you please tell whats the cost of IVF at kamini rao? Please share if you have any info on this.
Are you planning to continue there or there are any other fertility centers you might consider ?
Wish you good luck for your treatment, and pls keep me posted with your updates.

    Hi,

You can take a opinion directly with Dr. Kamini Rao by going to
    pinkwhalehealthcare

Other top specialists such as Dr. Jyotsna Mirlay and Dr. Varsha Patil are also available through the same portal.

This is to help folks to ensure that they are on the right track. Irrespective on where you are located, you can access this conveniently.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks!

    Hi Orchid11,

Thanx for your reply. Yes B'lore's climate is 2 gud...

Am also considering the option of Sure /AFC ..... I will be shortly visiting both the hospitals. Do let me know ur thoughts on the best of these both in terms of cost, waiting time, personal attention, availability of doctors (I tend 2 become OHSS) during 2 week waiting post IVF ...... Sure's infrastructure from outside looks worth it but AFC looks a bit deserted and remote.... Do let me know ur thoughts and the Dr's name at both the hospitals.....

Will also visit Gunasheela n Kamini Rao Hospital (Jayanagar) before opting finally.

Though am new to B'lore, but seeing your msg 2day I feel like I have found a friend to whom I can pour my feelings and frustrations that I will undergo during this treatment.

Hope u 2 wud have opted for some option by now. Keep me posted. WILL keep bothering you now and then with whole lots of doubts. Pl bear.....:) and keep in touch..... Though d journey is tough but it shud be worth it....

    Hi Godsblessings,

Its good to see your reply. You are right we are starting on a tough journey but by sharing our feelings and experiences we will be much better than being alone.
I was stuck with some other personal things so there are no updates from my side. I am yet to visit morpheus art/AFC.I think I am not going to try Kamini rao because i have heard from most of the ppl that like gunasheela its the other (read junior) doctors who will take up your case.

As I mentioned in my previous post i have been to both sure fertility(Dr. Reeta) and afc(Dr. Nirmala) for 2 of my iui cycles. Here is a quick comparision based on my experience there, i don't know about ivf particularly.
Cost - Sure is a bit more costly than AFC.
waiting time - Definitly more in AFC because its more crowded, also its on first come first serve basis no funda of taking appointments.
personal attention - Sure staff gives more personal attention, afc is a bit like some factory so don't expect much personal attention.
Availability of doctors - Not sure on what you want to know here, but afc has 2 main doctors Dr. Nirmala and Dr. Manjunath. Sure has i guess 3-4 docs but none of them is very famous or something and i hv no clue how good they are in there job.
infrastructure - Sure is better, they will provide you with a/c rooms and all.Infrastructure at AFC is also pretty decent, i did not had any problems when i went there for iui.As far as location is concerned it depends where do u stay.

Having said that, I still prefer to go and check on IVF procedure/cost/success rate at AFC. Though the dr. is little rude and they kind of work like a machine but the thing which matters most is result. Even if they pamper you well but the doctor doesn't know what she is doing, there is no point in going there.. we can go to a hotel instead :D
Earlier i visited dr. rupa in sure fertility and she seemed to be much more knowledgeble but unfortunately she has left sure and opened her own clinic. The problem with Dr Reeta is she doesn't remember you at all, everytime you visit her its like first time for her and then she will just rush thru ur case history without giving much attention to the details. But other wise she talks very politely and she is quite calm.
Dr. Nirmala on the other hand can be very rude and blunt, just after my iui she told me that there are little chances of it being successful and it was true my iui cycle failed. After that i did not visit her, but now i think its better to go to docs who know what they are doing and do not give false hopes.

Ofcourse this is just my personal opinion and this is based on IUI experience which is far less compilcated then a IVF, hence i will visit AFC again and see how it goes. I will keep you updated.
Please share how did you visit to Sure/AFC/Kamini rao goes.

Thanks for listening and sharing :)
Hope to hear from you soon.
    Take care.

    Hi Orchid,

1)Can you please also share when did you go for IVF at Kamini Rao's hospital and who was the doctor you were visiting ?

I went in 2010 Kamini roa hospital jayanagar 5th block and doctor was Dr Anu, she is soft spoken but somehow no one exlpained corretly any thing and she and dr kamini roa blamed nurses and junior doctors for calling me at 8 inthe morning and telling me to lie down till 4 pm and not exlpaining me about overstimulation of ovaries.

2)you could share the cost of ivf cycle there it would be very benificial.
First they told its going to be 175000 to 2 lacs but it came 2.5 nearlly 3 lacs.

3)Are you visiting/considering any other doctor currently?
No. right now Im in UK.

I hope I have answered all of ur questions clearly.

And if u have any other questiond about the treatment includyng these
1aaproscopry,hystrolap,iui,cervcall dilatation,IVF and HSG then u can ask me.

    regards,
    sveta

    Hi Sveta,

Thanks for your quick response. After hearing about your experience i am a bit skeptical about visiting Kamin Rao now. Even before your post I was not sure whether to visit her or not as she herself doesn't take up any case (as per my knowledge), and even the cost of the treatment is more than others so i think its better i look for other options.

Do you have any info/experience with any other fertility center in bangalore, any idea abt Madhuri patil ? It seems you have undergone all/most of the procedures you listed in your previous post, were all of them in the same clinic?

I had some questions regarding ivf like how many days leave i need to take from office.Dr. says its just 2-3 days is that so ? How is the egg retrival and ET procedures like , is it very painful? is it done under anesthesia? how many injections we need to take :( Also what happens in case ivf cycle gets cancelled due to some reason like not enough mature eggs etc, do they refund back the money ?
These questions may sound silly to you but i can prepare myself better mentally if i already know all this.

Thanks again for sharing your experience with us.

    Regards,
    Orchid.
