    Hi BloreBaby,

Though you have asked about infertility doctors based in and around Bangalore city,i don't think it will be appropriate for me to suggest another doctor 300 kms away from Bangalore. But if one is interested in getting satisfactory result.... miles needn't
    be a problem at all.

The doctor i am refferring to you is Dr.Fessy Louis .T. DGO,DNB,MNAMS.He is based in Edappal Hospitals (P) Ltd. at Edappal a place near by Calicut.
Also Dr.Fessy is assisted by his senior doctor Dr.K.K.Gopinathan MD,Head of Dept OB & G.
The name of the center is CIMAR (Center for Infertility Management & Assisted Reproduction)
It is on the top floor of Edappal Hospitals.

Reasons why i suggest this hospital is accounted below..........

1.CIMAR is where the First ICSI baby of Kerala and First PGD baby of South India was reported.

2.CIMAR is ISO 9001:2000 certified center (Certifiaction done by BVQI).

3.Both Dr.Fessy & Dr.Gopinathan are excellent doctors with high success rate.

4.Another factor which i believe is the relative low cost in treatments like in IUI/IVF/ICSI.For example when Dr.Nirmala of A.F.C at J.P.Nagar Bangalore charges 600/- for semen analysis
CIMAR charges just 250/-.So as you could see a 50% cost difference. This differenece is huge when you are into IUI and other high tech treatments.
(It would be nice if you could verify this on your own.You can access their website ...cimarindia.com for more details.)

5.The other problem will be regarding accomadation.I am not sure if there are 5 star/4star hotels there. But i do hope to find decent hotels with reasonable facilities.
The nearest airport is at Calicut.I think you can check with CIMAR,they may assist you regarding possible accomadation facilities.

Whether the above info helps you .....i really do not know. But just sharing as I had been there once.:)

If you have any queries ...do let me know.
    regds,
    Mrs.Rajan.

    Hi BloreBaby,

I am also going to Bangalore in Oct to try ICSI. We have also been married 2 yrs now. I have just tried clomid and our doctor suggested we go directly for IVF ICSI. I think it will be
nice if we can keep in contact with each other .

    Hi Ladies,

I had my 3 IUIs and 2 IVF in US. The IUI's were covered in my insurance but IVFs were out of pocket. I had currently 9w pregnant. Yes it was for the Male factor.

I would say educating yourselves is very important before you go to these fertility specialists. Not all doctors have the time and patience to explain things from the scratch. And from my personal experience from the past and in general with all doctors in India (of all specialities, not just infertility) there is no process of explaining things to the patients. All they say is "take this tab 3 times a day for 1 week and you will be ok". At least docs in my town used to do that.

My suggestion is that since you all have internet at your disposal read as much as possible so that when they throw words at you you know what they are. And also you can make the most of the appointments by asking more advanced questions. I always write down my all my questions on a paper before going to the doctors office. Dr Malpani's website has very good information on all the IUI/IVF procedures.

And just out of curiosity do you girls mind sharing with us how much does IUI, IVF, ICSI and freezing costs in India? And how much did your meds costs? When I was shopping the price was also a factor for me.

My IVFs costs me approximately the following. In US Dollars
    6K for cycle
2K for ICSI, Anasthesia and misc
    700 for freezing
    3K for meds

    Hi Misa

Congrats on your pregnancy.I am happy to find you as I am also preparing myself for IVF with ICSi ,you would be a great resource for me.I totally agree with you on the research on internet and jotting down the questions in advance before the RE's visit.

I need to also add that IVF also involves lots of emotional stress.

Even I was wondering about the cost for IVf/Freezing in India.Any information in this regards is highly appreciated.
