A bit similar, this happened with a distant cousin of mine:

This cousin was doing her 2nd or 3rd year engineering, in a different city,away from parents. She came home during holidays and met her aunt (Doctor by profession) whom she was close to.
She told the aunt that she was in love with a boy(different caste) and wants to get married right away (since there was a fantastic muhurtham just ahead according to their horoscopes) and asked her to convince her parents. The aunt said that it is not the time to marry, they should think about it after studies, both the parents should discuss and so on.
The girl confessed that she was pregnant and that it is now legally too late for an abortion. Her boy friend has the doctor's report to prove this (how many months pregnant) and if the aunt or her parents force her now to abort the baby, she and her boy friend will later go to police and file charges. So they better get them married right now.
So the horrified elders got her married the next week.

This same cousin has a younger sis. About a year later, the parents found that this girl was in love too. They immediately made her stop attending college, found a match very quickly and got her engaged. She was inconsolable until they found the match but later was quite ok (probably because the fiancee is working in UK and was good looking - but this is just a guess on the part of relatives)

Doest make any sense. Just becuz elder one wants to play BC time telgu movie sacrificing heroine role...doesnt mean younger ones shd follow her and be grateful forever.

Reluctance in younger one's tone talks about her fear that they might nto accept it.

Poor girl. Feel bad for her. yes stop the college, house arrest and get the kid engaged...dont care about her likes, and to top it...dont give any time to girl to get over her ex and make up her mind...before thrusting this new relatio forcefully on her. afterall...this is all done with the kids 'own good interest' in mind....isnt it.

 

She certainly paid a cost.. worst thing is she stopped her studies when she was in intermediate. So just 10th pass. I don't know if she will try to continue her studies.. it has been about 4 years now..

Even her sis stopped her engineering studies. Her husband has stopped studying too, I am not sure why and he doesn't work and doesn't want her to work. They stay with in-laws and her parents send money periodically.
