    Cardamom Lassi - a pleasant breeze in summer!!

    This is a Punjabi recipe.

    Blend together in a liquidiser:


    Fresh curds - 2 cups


    Chilled ,milk - 1 cup


    Powdered sugar - 4 tbsp


    Cardamom powder = ½ tsp


    Serve topped with crushed ice.

    White Pumpkin Juice with Curd/Buttermilk to cool and cleanse your body. It tastes so good!!

    This is a favourite recipe, standard as well, in all Yoga camps & Nature cure centres. It is supposed to cleanse the system completely. It can taken twice or thrice a week.
    USE ONLY FRESH PUMPKIN & WASH VERY WELL.
    Peel & grate. Squeeze the juice through a clean cloth. Add curd/buttermilk & salt. Pepper is optional.
    I use the squeezed pumpkin for Poha-Pumpkin Bahala Bhath

    Masala Mor - some more, please !

    Curds - 1 cup ( preferably malai should be removed)


    Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp, chopped

    Hing - 1/4 tsp


    Green chilli - ½ ( deseeded)


    Small onions - 5,6 - chop


    Ginger - 1 cm


    Tender curry leaves - 6 sprigs (I used curry leaf powder)


    Salt



    Lime juice - to taste


    Temper as below (optional):


    Oil - ½ tsp


    Mustard seeds - ½ tsp


    Grind greens, ginger, green chillies with 1 cup of water.


    Strain & to the sediment add 1 more cup of water & repeat the procedure.


    Blend curds with 1 cup of water.


    Mix this with the strained liquid, salt & lime juice.


    Dilute more if preferred.

    Temper & refrigerate.

    Pudina- Tender Coconut Delight - a digestive drink!!

    Clean mint leaves & grind with grated ginger adding water.

    Strain, squeezing well, add salt, lime juice & honey (all to taste).

    Mix with tender coconut water.

    Makes a very refreshing drink.

    Piyush - deliciously creamy Gujarathi drink!!

    This can be called an extension of shrikand!:)
    Either ready made shrikand can be used or curd-cheese made at home by straining 1 cup good curds.

    To the above, add;

    Fresh buttermilk - 1 cup

    Sugar (powdered) - 4 tbsp

    Cardamom powder, edible camphor (opttional), saffron - to taste

    To garnish:

    Chopped nuts & raisins

    Vazaithandu (banana stem) Juice - ahealth drink, specially for dieters!

    Vazaithandu (banana stem) is supposed to help reduce the weight (by removing toxins in the body) & is specially recommended for people with kidney stones. Use fresh vegetable for best results. Slice, chop, liquidise with green chillies (optional), ginger, salt & water. Strain, squeezing well & add buttermilk. Garnish with jeera powder.

    Fig juice - delightfully different!!

    This tastes good warm or cold.

    Figs - 4 (soak in ½ cup of water for2 hrs & liquidise)

    To 1 cup of water, add

    Jaggery -1 tbsp (more or less, to taste)

    Crush together:

    Cardamoms - 2

    Ginger - 1”

    Tulsi or omvalli leaves - 5,6

    Add this with jaggery to water, heat to dissolve jaggery, switch off & keep covered for the flavors to infuse.

    After one hour, strain, add fig puree & add water to get the desired consistency.

    Chocolate Banana Smoothy - "creamily" delicious!!

    Milk - 2 cups

    Sliced & frozen banana - 2

    Sugar - 3-4 tbsp

    Cocoa powder - 3 level tbsp

    Grated chocolate - to garnish.

    Blend & garnish.

    Grapear Juice - ofcourse grapes + pear!!

    Use either green or violet grapes. Liquidise with little water & strain.
