And you have started it with the most vexing question that has remained unanswered since the dawn of time. Happiness is the epitome of elusiveness! In comparison to its fleeting tendency, a flash in the pan pales into insignificance.

Was Eve able to answer in the affirmative when Adam seeing her taking a bite of the Forbidden Fruit asked her lovingly if she was now happy? Mind you, Adam was entitled to an affirmative answer after he took the momentous step of plucking the Fruit off the tree for her, muddying himself in the process. And what was Eve’s reaction to Adam’s loving enquiry? A grumpy face as ever!

While I fully agree with whatever you have said so far, I must admit to be really intrigued by this last statement. I mean,how do you know what Eve said to Adam? Were you lurking in the vicinity watching the goings on?????

I shouldn’t be talking too much about it on the eve (Eve again!) of Valentine’s Day!

Oh, that is perfectly alright sir. No offence taken. Am sure others will take it in the right spirit too, and if I am not mistaken our orange brigade is all set to give you a few brownie points. :rotfl

What is remarkable about this thread of yours is that it makes the reader happier than the writer.

That is really kind of you to say that. :-D

I have always been advocating that communicating happiness is a lot more important than just feeling happy. You have done just that here. Life abounds with delightful spectacles but we have no time for them until we are ‘grounded’. When we are active, we are blind. When we are ‘grounded’, we become wide awake. What an irony it is, isn’t it?

It indeed is. I feel incredible sad at the thought that we have messed up our lives to the extent that we are not able to enjoy what is given to us for free - what we can never think of creating ourselves - and then go about spending huge amounts of money on trying to make ourselves happy. Then we have to kill ourselves trying to earn that money to be able to afford to buy our happiness. And eventually when we do get what we wanted all along, we are left wondering if that was what we wanted after all.

You are blessed with a writing skill that enables you to make others feel exactly what you feel, see exactly what you see and experience exactly what you experience.

This means a lot to me coming from a writer of your calibre, sir.

That picture that you have attached is spellbinding and makes me speechless. It happens every day without fail but we open our eyes to it only once in a way. May God bless us with the competency to see true Godliness in everything around us all the time!

you hit the nail on the head with that phrase . Yes the skies are absolutely mesmerizing especially when not lit up by city lights. Then one can enjoy watching the millions of stars that light it up and feel at peace with oneself as well as with the universe.

your post was a delightful read..its such a pleasure to read your posts most of the time.. they reflect your state of "happiness".. you know what satchi.. its such a relative feeling.. I too like you am satisfied with whatever I have but most of the management gurus say that it means that you are stagnating growth???... weird world we live in..

Well Kerman, all I would say is send those management gurus off on an enforced break to some natural resort, take away all their gadgets of communication and let them experience nirvana on earth and they will realize what rubbish they were talking.

Finding happiness and holding on to it is in itself such a mammoth task for most people but you go the extra mile to share it with others too. Thank you for that. Yes, I get it. Happiness is waiting in all things, seemingly small and insubstantial, all around us. We just have to 'stop and stare' to feel it. I am so glad to know that you got a chance to slow down to enjoy a chance at indulging your writing passion and also to spend some time with your mother. Your career - 100 K a year. Time you spend staring out the balcony at the glorious sunrise and the beautiful birds all the while listening to the wonderful voice of your mother - absolutely priceless. While I am happy that you got a chance to slow down to enjoy life, I wish you speedy recovery from your physical ailments.
