"One step at a time!", I say to myself weakly Not sure at that time, If I could do it fully. With one part cursing me And the other pleading, I pushed myself to see, How far I would be going. The lower part, below my knees Did not move as I wanted them to. Resembling my dear little niece Who ignores whatever I say too. Then I felt that I was dragging Myself along with difficulty. Each leg, I felt then was weighing A ton, I can't forget you see! At times, my breathing came in gasp, And things went out of my grasp. Somehow, I still had some hope And never once left the rope. As I finally reached the end, I felt a lot less burdened. Wondering how I made it there, I stared things from there. Oh, how beautiful everything looked I reckon its all worth it. My first trekking was that good, So glad was I to make it.
