and having normal food which does not contain sugar.

Please can you suggest me what all food types can i have.. like chapathi or rice or oats or anything.

Here it goes:
The important thing in the Vrat is we should not consume sweet in any form(sugar,jaggery,Honey, snacks etc whatever which contains sweet). Fruits are permitted.

Step by step rules:

1. We can start the Vrat on a Thursday morning. After taking bath, in ur pooja room place a baba photo(if you have already have a baba statue or photo then its fine),offer flowers to him. Then in a small container you can fill sugar, place it in front of the photo. Now pray to Shirdi sai your wish.

2. The vrat should be done for entire 3 weeks with no exemption (for example if you start on 26[SUP]th[/SUP] Feb’15, the fasting it should end by 18[SUP]th[/SUP] Mar’15)

3. On the 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] week Wednesday(preferably evening), you can go to the near by sai temple and offer Sweets to Shirdi sai.

4. The Vrat will be completed on the next day Paal Neivedyam to Baba in your home with the sugar that we put during the first week.

I personally done this vrat and got immense blessings of baba. I would come to know about this through some Tamil Aanmiga book.

Hi Anna,
You have mentioned not to take sweets on the vrat time. So what food can we take on the vrat days. Pl clarify my doubt. Does it mean we have have normal food on other days?

Hi @ArjunKumanan - I am new sai devotee. He came to my house and I started praying to him. So far I have done 2 9 thursday vrat and this 3 week vrat. But every prayer has not been answered. I saw your post and tried the 3 week no sugar vrat and at the end of the vrat today I got the negative news. I will complete the vrat and offer paal neivedyam tomorrow and the extra sugar as sweet to the temple.
I dont know why he came to my house and every prayer is answered opposite. i am afraid to pray for anything now.

Hi Arjun.

I have started my virtham on Thursday but unknowingly I had coffee with sugar and I Forgot to keep sugar near baba. but instead of me on the same day, my wife kept the sugar to baba and after that, I did not take sugar. Can I extend the virtham for one more day or it should be only started from Thursday. Please help
