    Hi,
The katori cut blose is little complicated one. Totally 13 pieces for a blouse ( front 5+5 including Button patti, back 1 and 2 sleeves.)
If u know tailoring then it is better to use anold blose and take the Paper pattern leaving 1/2" allowence and try with an ordinary cloth. Then you will be knowing the fitting Accordingly take the fresh cutting and try) .
I am stitching my bloses in this method and happy with the fittings.
    All the best.

I too stitch katori blouse in the same way.unravel the stitches carefully with out spoiling the cloth, make paper cutting and stitch. I will not leave 1/2" seam for stitching because it will be already there in the old blouse

    Hi,
Thanks vani. Yes, if u open the old blouse carefully, u need not leave 1/2" allowance. After removing the stitches in the old blouse, i usually trim the edges of all the pieces neatly to take the paper cutting. So i will add extra allowance.
The front Cup shape cutting i used to cut in cross width in the cloth. so the shape will fit perfectly.

    Re: pattern for saree blouse

    Hi Sena,

    Welcome to IL.
You can go through this thread and you will find the basic blouse drafting instructions.
As for the book, you can ask your mother to buy the "Zarapkar system of cutting" a book on tailoring which includes all the indian clothes sewing.

    Hope this helps.
