I have a problem with my tailor model foot pedal type sewing machine. While the stitches run properly on a regular piece of cloth, when I try to attach a piece of padding to the fabric, the stitches skip most times, leaving long gaps between stitches, making the whole exercise futile. I tried keeping a newspaper underneath and sandwiching the padding between it and the fabric, it still skips stitches. Finally I just stitched by hand! What is the problem here? Thanks in advance. Thanks for your prompt reply and link. The link tackles common irritating problems we encounter often while sewing. Very interesting. Will try to correct the different problem areas and see if it resolves the next time I need to use an interlining.
