Hi all, I have a 7 month old girl. She is currently in the crawling phase. She is now trying to stand up by catching on to things. I have a play yard but she hardly lies in there. It is being used for storage Heater vents run all around the floor in our apartment. How can I childproof? Have you bought a play pen or used gates to create a playing area? Which brand did you buy? Can the gates be used as bed railings or do I need to buy them separately? Looking forward for your replies.
Ramya , I have gates installed for stairs.. You can try to use those gates with extensions and create a closed area for playing.. About heater vents, am not sure how to do it either. Have you checked out Home Depot ? or Lowes ? The sales person there usually helps out and its worth asking them .. Before starting baby-proof for my house, I visited my american neighbor's house to see what are the stuff I need to close .. I got lots of ideas from them..
@ranchu thank you for replying. I will check out home depot. Can't seem to think of lowes store nearby. Do the gates come with extensions? Please do share your child proofing ideas.
Hi Ramya, I had a superyard similar to this when my son was in the crawling stage Amazon.com: North States Superyard Play Yard, Classic XT: Baby But it was only for few months until he knew to push the yard and climb on it. Maybe 2-3 months. But it was really useful till then. As for childproffing your home, gate for kitchen is a must. Look for any sharp objects, furnitures, toys on her height level. If you can move sharp edge furnitures to one room so she can play in the living room or get some corner cushions for all furnitures Amazon.com: Kidkusion Toddler Corner Kushions Black - 4 Pack: Baby Childproof electrical outlet with covers Amazon.com: Mommy's Helper Outlet Plugs 36 Pack: Baby Here is a good article Crawling Safety
