Currently iam studying IELTS and TOEFL in a centre. Opposite to the centre there is building being constructed . it is coming beyond the road too. It is built by a big shot(,we don't much about him). It seems he has political power. The stones do fall on our centre's premises. It has fallen a student who was hospitalised. Now people working in the centre went to police. No response from police side. They are big level people, please leave the matter is the response we get. I talked with foreman there today. He said he will take care that no stones fall. But today also stones and water were falling. At least if it was inside the street road , it would have been better. No safety for us. The cars and bikes also gets damaged. God has to help us.

sindmani, all one can do is pray or file a public interest litigation and hope the judges are not in the politicians' pockets; of course one has to also take into consideration the attendant risks to life and limb, not necessarily through falling bricks/stones.

The same seems to be the issue with a big mall coming up outside our complex on a site from which a housing for the economically weak has been cleared out. The mall owners have started digging and piled the dug up mud and sand along the side of the road to prevent the evacuees from setting up tents. This has now become a garbage hill outside our complex and is not just an eyesore but used to stink and is a health hazard too. Citizens have got the BBMP to remove at least some of the garbage and hidden the mess behind painted screens. The owner must have some political clout otherwise why are the BBMP officials as well as Ministers so reluctant to remove it? They act so helpless.

The other day Times Now reported the number of times the CM of this state has thrown his weight (figuratively as well as literally) around and made ambulances wait for his cavalcade of 20+ cars to pass by. People's lives are of no consequence. In the past when confronted with this matter, he is reported to have said the people have to just grin and bear it.

With such attitudes and no one to turn to who would sort matters out, there is little the public can do - at least they are questioning of late.

God is in Heaven, but is all well with the world?

As Satchi says, God is in Heaven, though I don't know exactly where she gathered this information from. But she seems confident. Her problem is with humanity, the humanity that you face in the Centre and elsewhere. Her comment reminds me of the ending scene of Monsieur Verdoux, expecially what Verdoux has to say to the Priest. Here is that link:

In Bangalore , in our electronic city we had lots of drainage and road problem then. No one took action , even after we complained. Now we got money from all the house owners for under ground drainage. We put it. Now roads are put it seems. No use of the taxes we r paying
