    I am here to only say that I closely monitor and learn from the recording of run mileage from all of you. Unfortunately, my favorite running has been abandoned by me around the end of last century due to BP medication I take that prevents raising heart rate to the levels I would like to raise them to. But I am proud to say I am losing weight in large measures through walking, physical exercises, etc.

    Reading this thread is a great motivator for me. :)

    I managed to squeeze in 2.5 miles this morning. Don't ask me what I ate this weekend. I'm not even logging it all on mfp :)

    @Viswamitra sir - So nice to have you here. I didn't know about the BP meds connection. Walking is a great exercise too. I recommended Leslie Sansone walking videos on YouTube to my Dad but he won't listen. Do look into it if time permits.

    @KavyaKMV - I used the couch to 5k app to start running. It's only been five years now. I started from the far end of the couch and it really helped me. You only need the app and a good pair of running shoes to start off.

    @KavyaKMV welcome to the club!

    Hey talking of apps this frustrated me on Sun. There was some issue and it kept going in loops. I ended up tracking it manually :BangHead:. Any other reliable apps out there?

    Welcome Kavya! I second the C25K program. That's how I started running.

    @justanothergirl Have you tried the C210K app by Zen Labs? I used it for a while a couple of years ago and liked it.

    It is 8:32 and here is my Fitbit Blaze reading:

    Steps - 11,971
    Miles - 5.41 miles
    Calories burned - 2,721
    Floors -10
    Active minutes - 49
    Calories intake manual - 1,500
    Water - 90 ounces

    After doing a lot of activities like weight lifting, situps, pushups, walking, etc., My heart rate jumps to 165 rapidly. I am told I shouldn't raise heart-rate beyond 220 minus my age 63. Most importantly my resting heart-rate came down from 65 to 58 after 3 months.

    After so many years, I came to know that we burn calories even when we are inactive. ;)
