A thread to run - almost eight years old - still running sighting the golepost, shedding sweat with no gainsaying about gains!
Parts of Chennai now ready for runners. Great shows of half and full marathons commences at marina beach or and east coast road.
Many run with goal of catching bus or metro or something else some run away from stackers.
Could any one deal with the DOs & DONTs of running, like when one should and should not follow the running regimen, food to be taken or not taken before and after, timings and seasons, benefits of running vis a vis morning early morning etc.
I read the thread with interest and inputs are great.
But my friend doctor says if I chose to walk I should walk like a stiff soldier and goal is not to shed but to maintain weight which seems to be real benefit indeed. It is said by professionals athletes, Sudden stopping the regimen will have adverse effects or gains whatever would be reversed.
I wish all runners all the best remain slim and trim so that you wallet remains obese. Running reminds me essay “ on running after one’s hat” by GK Chesterton?!

I learnt about varities of machines available to walk, exercise to gain or lose weight from your jottinings and equipment suitability for different individuals.
