Running Club

    Got up at 6.30 in the morning, looked out of window and its windy and raining here in Munich ! Couldn't head out for running. Evening seem to be pleasant according to weather report. I will run in the evening and keep you updated :)

    Hello ILs,
    Day 1 Update
    I managed to start running today.
    1.The first thing I did after coming from office is directly change to running tracksuit :D .
    2.Had little water, sat for 5 minutes.
    3.Turned on the music on my phone and started running at medium pace.
    4.Did run for 15 minutes . 5 minutes walk. 15 minutes run again. So in total 35 minutes. Covered 3.5 KM
    5.It was nice :) . I am typing here preparing myself to face the muscle soreness !:crybaby2:

    Sorry it took me for ever. The three poses that I insist that my DH do after a long run are :

    Vrikshsana - as much as it is a balance pose, it also does a lot for the hips as a hip opener. Keep your back close to the wall, keep one leg rooted (say left) to the ground, the right foot digs into your left thigh (make sure you are above the knee or below it) keeping the drishti on a point on the ground try to move the right knee out ward like you are opening your hips.

    Anjaneyasana - Be very careful because of your knee issues. The low lunge one like this and the only [​IMG]

    modification I do is - get your elbows gently to the ground if you can and push your knee (the left one in the picture) Even with the pose in the picture, gently try to push your left knee. Alignment wise, always keep the knee aligned to the ankle.

    Finally, this is my favorite pose

    I like to get my head on the floor as I stretch my arms forward. However, make sure your hips are aligned (usually one lifts) and also for the folded leg I like to keep it parallel to the top of the mat. You can fold inwards till you are comfortable.

    My Day 2 Update ( Yesterday's)
    1.I couldn't run cos of my muscle soreness
    2.I managed to do a brisk walk with my husband.Covered 3.5KM in 50 Minutes.
    3.I try to run today evening slowly and update you :)
