I m from south india and love soft chapathi . i have seen some of my north indian friends roll the chapathi differently ... i have been trying but in vei... can someone give me tips on this or share some videos. thank you
i think u r talking about paratha.. they fold after applying oil, then again they will right?????? let me share the video Paratha (Indian Flatbread) Recipe by Manjula - YouTube
looks like you are talking about the way they rotate chapathi while rolling. Try rolling the rolling pin clockwise on the outer edge. It comes by practice. All the best.
vidukarth don`t laugh at me. I have also been trying to do the same. First round it comes well. When it becomes thinner the roti sticks to the board. So I console myself saying `ok it will come by practice!` Hope I learn it perfect soon.
Hi While preparing the dough add a spoon oil and then mix warm water and knead it nicely.cover the dough in a bowl for atleast 15 min. Then roll the chapatis.after heating the tawa just fry the chapati slightly(till you can see bubbles rising) on both the sides.then remove the chapati and put it on direct flame. You can see the chapati puffing like a balloon.I generally do this way.I get very soft and thin chapatis.Try this method.
