Roast white rice to remove fat

    An ayurvedic doctor recently advised by mom that if you are a regular rice eater. You need to first roast the rice for sometime you dont have to make it brown and then add water and cook. The roasting apparently removes the fat!

    Rice is mostly carbohydrate ,very little fat....Not able to find the logic behind it...can you explain more..

    Rice contains proteins too but it is incomplete. If it is not used fully it is converted to fat. If the carbohydrate is not burned through exercise it also turns to fat.

    Actually, heard for moong dal-when you dry fry them, the gas will be reduced. would be really helpful if you explain better for rice.

    still better try having Brown rice -mix white rice and brown rice initially if you donot like taste and switch over to brown rice-full of nutrients and also eating less will satisfy you.

    unfortunately ladies, I do not have any further info on this. This was told by the doctor. I have been following it for last 2 -3 days. But I guess the safest and fool proof option is brown rice :)
