    hi all

    we r planning to remove our mosaic flooring and replace it with tiles. the idea is to dig and remove the mosaic and then lay tiles. share ur views on

    the idea
    which tiles is cheap and best
    scratch free tiles
    where to buy(some say pondichery)

    Hi Srilatha,

    You can buy virtified tiles from Arcot road chennai, there are so many shops u can see compare and buy. You can take measurements of all room sizes and they'll tell u how much you require and some of them will have persons to lay them too(for which they would charge seperately). My father bought Kajaria brand for our home one year ago. U can browse through their website if u like them u can call and ask for their showroom. If your house is very big then you make a saving by buying in pondicherry b'cas u need to consider the breakage, transportation, return cost etc

    at last we have pasted the tiles above the mosaic and it has come out very well. a shop in madipakkam gave tiles for a competitive price. its all done now. :) new look home.

    srilatha good. how much did the labour work out..and what was the area.. good for you ..yes that whole stretch has some reasonable tiles/marble shops..
