U can fry the oats and make it into powder just add little salt and sugar for taste and have it ,my kids like this .

If your husband normally likes oats then I think you prepared the instant oats incorrectly as Quaker instant is good quality. They come out better if you fix them in the microwave and follow the directions on the back exactly. You can then add whatever things you like to them like raisins, walnuts, cinnamon, brown sugar, etc.

You can find many oatmeal cookie recipes on net and this will use up you oats quicker.
