Measurement: 1 glass hesrubele(Moong dal) 1 glass rice 1 tsp crushed peppercorns 4 green chilies pinch of tumeric 1/2 inch ginger curry leaves salt Ghee 4 tsp Oil 2 tsp Jeerige 1 tsp Grated dry coconut Cashews as per your wish Add Ghee and oil in a pan , add jeera, ginger( crushed or finely hopped), chili, crushed peppercorns, curry leaves, cashews, turmeric add rice and dal , add salt fry dal and rice in medium flame for 10 mins Mix grated dry coconut or desiccated coconut . Cool the mixture. Store in air tight container Mix 1 cup of this mixture with 3 portions and water and let it cook. Pongal ready Add extra ghee on top and enjoy
