    Hi Cindhuja,
My mom makes these balls (not me, I'm yet to do it) with rava n dhals, but not multi grain..... if possible, just share it here.....
Your grand pa is an expert???? My god, I wish my Grand fathers n my dad were also good at these things, they are never into cooking.... !!!

Narra i'm afraid..Guess you have misunderstood..

Custard had referred to roasted channa dhal @ puffed-bengal gram and not the ordinary bengal gram which we use for seasoning

I'm attaching the picture of it...

Just powder it fine(without roasting or frying) in a mixie...

Next Powder sugar into powder or crush jaggery into fine powder

Melt ghee mix with the above powder and make into balls

Hope i haven't confused you :hide:

Here is another recipe with Soya Chunks, it would taste like Non-Veg.....
So those who miss Non-Veg and are in a position not to eat them : try this.

    <style type="text/css"> <!-- @page { margin: 2cm } P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm } --> </style> Ingredients :

    Soya Chunks - 2cups
    Onion - 1 large, chopped
    Curds - 1/4 cup
    Salt - to taste
    Oil - 2 Tbsp

To grind it to a paste :

    Cinnamon - 1/4"
    Cardomom - 2
    Cloves - 2
    Shombu - 1/2tsp
    Pepper - 1tsp
    Cumin - 1tsp
    Ginger - 1" piece.
    Garlic - 3 cloves
    Coconut (grated) - 1/4 cup
    green Chilli - 2

    Method :
Soak Soya Chunks in hot water fo 15minutes. Drain and squeeze out the water thoroughly
Heat oil in a kadai, add Onions and sauté.
Add the ground paste. Sauté well, till the raw smell goes off.
Add the curds and mix. The oil will start to float, then add the Soya Chunks and salt.
Mix well and serve hot with any variety of rice.

Tip : While making it as side dish for Chapathi, make it like a gravy by adding a 1/2 cup milk or water at the end.

    custard,
today i made veg cutlet with potatoes, green peas, carrots, grn beans, onions, chillies, dhaniya powder, garam masala, chat masala powder and amchoor powder, mint and coriander and corn flour:). i tried deep fry(kids can't wait) and baking(for us). i don't like baked one.next time i will try to make shallow fry. i used corn flour insted of bread crumbs.

this recipe is also from sanjeev kapoor. but he made with bread crumbs.

Here are some of the pulses that I remember of

    moong
    chana
    kabuli chana
    matki
    dried green peas
    dried yellow peas
    rajma

I usually like to eat pulses as spruots (except for habuli chana, rajma and all that dont go well as sprouts)

The favourite of sprouts bhaji is "mixed usal" and "matki usal"
