It comes subtly in the pronunciation.

    Dear Suba,
The letter in the bracket is lightly pronounced without much emphasis. When you read it, you will get it automatically.Nama(h), try saying it, you will get it !
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.

you are always one step ahead----

    Dear Chitra,

I'm so happy to see the daily routine pooja format - with explanation for each line.
    thats really nice of you.
have taken the print-out & would like to follow.
like you've pointed out, dry fruits seem to be the best for neivedhyam for everyday.

    I do have a question -

while doing pooja, do we need to sit facing north or east
do we need to worry about directions at all?????
if offering fruits, can it be arranged in a steel plate?? or even that needs to be arranged in copper, brass or silver????

Coming to 16 step puja format, in the 11th step, you've mentioned, ASHTOTHRAARCHANA, would like to know more about it??

    Pls do reply.

Now that the kitchen is taken care of pretty well, thanks to your recipes; we shall head to the pooja now..

Thanks Chitra, for all the help & sharing.

So I am from kitchen Chithra to puja Chithra ?

    Dear meena,
Do not face South - any other direction is Ok. North & east are best.
Best is to avoid steel. Even glass is ok since it is silica, basically, mud !
Ashtothara sathanama archana means invoking the deity by 108 names.
For each deity they are separate. I will see if they are given in any site. Or I will give for specific deities.
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.

ellaam chitra-mayam - whether its puja or kitchen

    Dear Chitra,

    thanks for the guidance.
In the present house, the deities face north east so when I sit for puja I naturally face south west. the room is too small that I can't sit sideways to face east.
Just waiting to shift to our new house soon where I won't have this problem.
I've taken care of these things there.
I do understand a lot of things related to puja now - thanks to you.

    Love & Regards,

    Hi Meena,

For Ashtotharam for various deities, you can go to www.prapatti.com
There you can take printout in English or Tamil or listen to their audio.
I find the above site very useful to me, I hope it is for others too.

    Flower Offering..another Sloka Chitra

HARI OM CHITRA...i'm testing my post_thread understanding...after i got yr explanation with this posting
ok just a suggestion..from my limited understanding....to the puja steps u have posteed in so clearly...what about ..in step 2 after offering the flowers ..we mentally say that most simple and yet sublime verse from the GITA..."Patram pushpam phalam ..."..i say it mentally often ..for me it is like a commitment from KRISHNA that this pushpam..or whatever i am offering ..the simplest of things...since it comes with a deep love and reverence ...HE accepts and understands the sentiment...in fact at the risk of sounding mad....sometimes when i see a pretty flower on a plant...and dont have the heart to pluck it when it is out there in bloom for everyone to see..i mentally visualise offering it to HIM ..and say this GITA sloka...it happens to be one of my favorites..along with so many others of the GITA..you share my love for the GITA chitra so lets share this love in this forum with others in the days to come..what say u?
i'm rambling on...and it was meant to be a test case of understanding the thread format.
    so bye for now
    love
    devika

Hari Om Devika, welcome to my dear site !

It is a great pleasure for me to interact here with you, my dear young friend ! Yes, pathram thoyam phalam pushpam is the correct verse - our attitude is most imporatant whatever we offer ! You are such an ardent student of Gita & i am sure you can share your knowledge in this beautiful forum with your words about gita as well. What do you talk about testing the thread - you hit the nail correct on the head ! Please contribute interesting points from gita for the benefit of everybody here. I repeat, I am very happy to interact with you here !
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.
