You never intended to return

I clinged onto this
Illusion of your love

No matter how cold
No matter how nasty
No matter how abusive
You proved

I would cry on our bed
Thinking, "what did I do"

I ignored your ignored calls
I ignored your evasive answers
I ignored your love for your dog
Rather than your wife at your feet

Even though you are not a man

That love remains
The realization that this love
Exists

When I see couples on
Indian Serials I think

That could have been us

This love belongs to someone

I see landscapes of
Our homeland

I imagine my love and I
On a bicycle
Going through Mother Nature's
Green Fields
With the sky painted all
Colors of the Rainbow

Showering her Beauty
Upon us

I see movies of
Our ancestors
Their lives
Their loves

Are they proud of us
How to make them proud

Did you ever think of that
