    Dear friends;
    Please suggest a good internet and cable connection (package or individual) in edison area.
    I checked "Optimum Online" but the reviews(in yellow pages) says that the speed is very low. Do anyone use their service? How is it?

    Also do suggest if there are any other internet providers; other than comcast?

    Thanks
    -Nitha

    Hi Nitha,

    We have been using Verizon internet service past 2yrs, its good in all the way.

    While we shifted it here, initally we didn't get the conenction though they guided us in phone. Finally two person came from their office and fixed, total suprise was they didn't charge for that initial 5days which we didn't use.

    We never expected that discount.:)

    We don't have cable connection, so no idea on that part.

    we have been using Cablevision(Optimum Online) for the past 1 year and no problem with speed at all.

    Comcast is also good but not available in certain part of edison.

    Verizon FIOS has some 2 year contract.So if you are planning for long term it will be good.

    No experience with timeswarner but should be same as cablevision / comcast.

    But really depends on what service providers your apt allows.Usually few apartments tie up with service providers so check with your neighbours.Generally leasing office / community office should be able to help you with that.

    Thanks Usha and Agut
    Usha;
    Thanks. Verizon's service is pretty good isn't it? Since we don't have the long term plan of staying here; and since verizon have the contract period we are in a dilemma.
    Agut;
    Ours is an independent condo sort of thing. So I guess it would be ok for any service provider.
    Since the "jobnature" is soley dependent on internet; we didn't want to waste days finding the internet service provider after reaching there.
    Cable and landline can wait. I have seen direct and dish TV"umbrella's" in our neighbours patio's ;) So I know their cable provider :))

    hi,

    nowadays most of the jobs are dependant on internet.whether it is due to weather or some personal issues we are forced to work from home some days.so i understand your concern.
    i would not worry abt cablevision.we have never had any issues even during very bad weather...:thumbsup

    good luck with your move and happy choosing !

    you can call and check with the dish company.they will be able to place it in a proper place for signal.

    otherwise optimum cable is simple.
    just check with them whether they will charge for each installation.
    (one installation charge for Optimum online and once again for cable if done at different times).

    they may also have some promo offer if both are done at sametime.
    when we did them together they waived installation charges.so check that too ! :idea
